Weekly Meditation and Chanting sessions are held in the Sanctuary on Thursday evenings: 7.30 – 8.30 pm.

We meet in front of the Lotus Yoga Centre at 7.20 pm and walk as a group to the Sanctuary.  Please bring a torch. It is advisable to wear walking shoes and you may like to bring a shawl/blanket and cushion for sitting on.  Attendance is by donation and proceeds go towards the Sanctuary upkeep.
All are welcome, so please spread the word.

The session begins with meditation, followed by the chanting of OM 108 times, and finishes with meditation.

According to Vedic philosopy, OM is the primordial sound from which the whole universe was created.  OM represents all time: past, present, and future; and is beyond time itself. OM represents the eternal oneness of all that is, thus sounding OM directs our awareness toward the supreme Self, the true nature of the universe.

Please note that these weekly Meditation and Chanting sessions are on hold while Shikhaa is offering 12 weekly classes (Thurs 11 March – Thurs 27 May) to learn and chant traditional Sanskrit Stotrums (Vedic hymns).

Please refer to the Events page for more information about Shikhaa’s classes.

“The meditation and chanting sessions in the Sanctuary are the highlight of my week.  I always come away feeling uplifted and renewed, after being in touch with the inner soul.  The Sanctuary gives me a strong sense of serenity, acceptance and peace within myself.  The chanting is very centering and one can lose themselves into the spiritual self”. – Ani
